Surfboard Necklaces

Product #:  8001
Brand:  Ray Caruso
Description:  Hang ten, dudes and dudesses!

Hanging Ten is a surfing maneuver:
  • One of the most impressive stunts one could perform on a longboard.
  • Hanging ten is when the surfer positions the board in such a way that the back of it is covered by the wave and the waverider is free to scootch to the front of the board, hang all ten toes over the nose of the board, all while holding two "high fives" up in the air as a celebratory indication of this feat.
It is also a skateboard move called Hang Ten Nosemanual.

You can show the world that you're a surfer by wearing your longboard around your neck!  These beautiful fossil walrus ivory tusk ivory surfboards are just what you want, and you've gotta get one for yourself.  They are about 1 1/4" to 2" long and come with a gold bail for you to put on the necklace of your choice.

Fossil walrus tusk ivory is excavated on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, near villages that have been inhabited for thousands of years.  In an environment lacking metal and wood, the native culture has depended upon the walrus for food, hides, bones and ivory, shaping the durable ivory into a myriad of essential tools.  Much of the fossil ivory found today is in the form of broken or worn sled runners, ice axes, spear points, net sinkers, needles and other discarded household items left to sit preserved in the village “dump.”  The recent ban on new ivory warranted the effort of digging into the hard, frozen ground to recover the fossil material.
